Patrick Maxwell is recipient of NIH Pathway to Independence Award

Patrick Maxwell was awarded a National Institutes of Health Pathway to Independence (K99/R00) award to study the influence of RNA-mediated transposition events on DNA damage and repair in aging cells. This award has two phases; the first is an $81000 award to fund one year of postdoctoral research sponsored by Joan Curcio at the Wadsworth Center and co-sponsored by William Burhans at Roswell Park Cancer Institute; the second phase is three years of funding for Patrick as an independent principal investigator.
